Showtime!
If you didn't know, there was a month long festival on in Edinburgh called the Fringe with a ton of shows on every day. It had all sorts of stuff, comedians, drama, theatre and artwork. Oh, and the SoCo Urban Garden with ramps built by the Transgression skatepark crew. The ramps were actually built on a site where a pub had burnt down a few years ago, so they built the scaffolding for the ramps (and bar, open til 5am!) )on top of a load of rubble and dumped a load of sand in the lower viewing area to make a beach. Pretty cool scene.
The shows were on every night for the whole month so as you can imagine, the riders were happy to see some out of towners arrive to bust some moves in the shows. I rode a few of the shows when I was there which was actually quite fun, along with some other locals and visitors. The show had all sorts of shit going on. Breakdancing, free-running, extreme unicycling, trials, skating and blading with bmx in there too. Everyone would chill in 'the hole' before the show which was pretty sketchy. Planks of wood on scaffolding isn't the safest!
The last show was on Monday night so if you didn't catch it you missed out, but if you're in the area, be sure to head to Ocean Terminal and ride Transgression park.

Masters 2008
(two monthe laterrrr... [sorry it took a while])
On the 3rd of July Me, my bro our missuss and my missuss mate went to good ol’ Standstead Airport to embark on our voyage to zi masters. It Seemed everyone was going this year, with more mexers, flat peaks and skinny jeans in the airport than I could shake a stick at.
When we arrived at Köln Airport we were greeted by rain and some friendly German faces with there Suzuki shuttle. We all felt proppa bo in our 4x4’s! And they took us straight to our hotel! BOSH!
We stayed at the Warstinerhof hotel and I don’t think they were to stoked seeing us walk in with our bikes! We sneaked in the room and then my brother came a bit behind to hopefully confuse the geeza at the desk that we were the same person… seemed to work as on the last day he said “wow there is two of you!” haha… anyways as we settled in we found that the ukbikeco Massive (Josh Cox, Ryan Taylor and Kane [mclovin] Hennasy) were staying in the vicinity as well as Ryan Winterbottom and Tom Usher.
Then once we got everything sorted we went to go check out the park. Seemed ok but a bit weird, made by camp ramps (haha) they had the biggest jump box I had ever seen a few ramps from last year and a snazzy little driveway woop thingy that looked a treat! We had a lil session in the rain but there were wood all over the ramps in an attempt to stop us from riding so in the end we called it a day and cruised back to the hotel and got pissed.
Day 2- Went down the park early in an attempt to get a ride in, turns out every other mexer had the same idea and the park was ram packed! So once I had registered we had a lil nibble and did similar to what we did the day before and got pissed.
Day 3- the day of qualifications for my bro, he got practicing it the park that was once again packed with riders, Thomas road a treat in qualifications for his first big comp. With shweeeeeet turndowns, 540 flyouts and 360 nose pivots on the biggest ¼ in the park which unfortunately resulted in a snapped chain he made his lil bro proud!!!! After the session Luke Padget and his matey Brendan stayed in our room for the rest of the hol as they had no where to stay, they stayed it as Brendan had a bad crash and as usual we went to the first after party. We got there and then found out that we all needed id to get in so we went with the brummy boy and the German boyos to the cathedral and got our crunk on (surprise, surprise) with some of the other Brits.
Day 4- the day of qualifications for myself, sessioned the park the best I could, it came to my run late in the afternoon and I had my run sorted in my head. Seemed though when I actually rode I completely forgot every thing I wanted to do so I just thought I mite try a triple… the first attempt went ok, got all three whips round, then the second attempt I thought I might actually send it and as you see from the vid I didn’t really send it…. Was a bit painful putting my elbow through my wheel and landing on my pedal so I hobbled around for the rest of the day bandaged up. In the after noon we went to the Gloria club which was packed, looked like it were going to be a good night. We managed to get everyone in using about 2 passports! everyone were having a good time and the booze was flowing but it seemed that all my cuts magnetised people to bump into me, I must have stained everyone there in my blood and by the end of the night I had had enough… so me and abbey went back and chilled out and had a early night.
Day 5 – we got up late that day after most people had a long night, hearing stories of my bro dancing around naked with KP and some others that cannot be discussed as my bro will not be a happy camper we headed down the park to watch the finals and the riding level was a treat! DD won again and good ol’ webby won Braun overall! (COME ON ENGLAND!!!) in the afternoon we went back a mellow few in the room and then went around cologne looking for somewhere to stay, we met up with every one at the hard rock café but no one was aloud in so we all started walking towards the Gloria but no one was aloud in there unless you were gay, all the big pros were getting loose as there was no where to go, so a group of mexers crowded around a smart car that had two men in and started rocking it around, the two geeza were not stoked so they got out and started on everyone, they seemed to get battered and then everyone chipped off before the police came, we all went in the opposite direction of the mob with bean can, webby and miss webby and cruised around the homo fest that was cologne… with a homo that was telling us about a techno club just up the road… we never got there so instead we had a McDonalds and finally went back.
Day 6 – We went shopping with the girls, proppa tourists! Was a laugh in the lego shop and getting the porno cards? In the afternoon we went back to the room and played drinking games with our newly purchased cards, me and abbey drank way to much vodka and it sent me to sleep…
Day 7- Got up, Got packed and said our good byes, the bloke at the front desk was shocked to find that me and Thomas were twins and we had a word said about having 7 in the room… we got the airport and got checked in and mellowed out with Mohney and KP in the departures lounge, was nice to got home and just reminisce over the previous week, was a treat! Thanks to everyone who made it so good!

Going for gold!...
Man, I really did hope they were going to have a "Hell Track" style drop in and that the old dude from Shot Circuit 2 would be on the side line as the Mongoose team manager at the Olympic games this year.
At least it will be good to see BMX getting the Olympic treatment - sorry kids, I'm pretty sure Grotbags will not be the commentator on the BBC - but wouldn't that be awesome rrrttteeeyyaaaaa!!
Anyway, enough about racing and all that. All this talk about Rad and 80's movies reminds me of my youth. So here is a classic bit from Homeless trash, ahhh the memories.....

ants backyard bbq session and black sausage challenge
After finally gettin round to editing the surprising amount of footage from last saturdays session at ants, its taking me a week to sort out the bloody thing to get it on vimeo...
so here it is at last.
im not sure who ate the crucified sausage in the end ,i know sonny had a bite, but his line at the end of the vid must have saved him from any further punishment.
So the vid features ant mainly, but there is also sonny, smit, and myself.
heavy hit after heavy hit.
enjoy.
Nick.
Also i hope ants hols havent been totally wrecked :(

Sputnic trip to devon and cornwall.
The trip consisted of myself , bruza, pete briton , Isaac lesser replacing haggler, Andrew gregory mk rider from OZ as guest rider , dunc on picture duty and alex on filming duty.
I picked some of the lads up and we headed out to farnborough for our first session and to meet all the crew. we had the place to our selfs and isaac was already double whipping the spine. andrew or gee was 360 tap the spine to bars out. i did a blunt on the spine to fakie canadian the quarter pipe with the help of my new free coaster. bruza was blasting everything as normal.
Then we packed up the rig and head on down to weymouth to ride the tranny banks and skatepark. all the guys killed the tranny banks, check it out , and we also got talked to by the locals about the fish in the sea.
As i was in a bit of pain with my bruzed heels i didnt ride weymouth i just fixed the trailer and tryed to sort out the camera mans hoffman taj.
We ended up in newton abbott and meeting up with all the guys that were doing the redbull empire of dirt , in a bar called the jolly farmer. Let just say good time were had by all both friday and saturday night after th dirt contest
We rode the saltash trails sunday morning and everyone really got into them even myself who hasnt ridden dirt jumps in such a long time.
Then just up the road is saltmill skate park which we rode for a few hours befor we came home i went over the back on a fakie and popped my head on the cement and freaked out when my arms lifted above my head involentery for about 60sec's , i recon i lost a few brain cells that day. i will be wearing my lid all the time now when riding.
End of the trip and we all got home safe and well and we all got on with no stress or conflicts, roll on sputnic trip number 2. where hopefully haggler will be aboard after his knee is better.
